Antimicrobial Resistance

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) occurs when microorganisms evolve to resist the effects of medications designed to kill them, making infections harder to treat. AMR is a significant public health threat, linked to overuse of antibiotics in humans and agriculture. Addressing AMR requires coordinated efforts in surveillance, stewardship, and research to promote responsible use of antimicrobials.
